Men Are Back: The Reawakening of Masculinity in a Godless Age

How the erosion of moral grounding and the rejection of God have fueled a revival of manhood and conviction in America.

In an ongoing effort to train and affirm boys to be competent men of Christ-like character, we cover a gamut of topics. These topics range from a historical perspective on the subject of masculinity, manhood, and religion to contemporary philosophies of raising boys in the times we find ourselves. We are not a political organization but the conversations about this subject in our culture today give us more than enough material as references. Many of these ideas are coming out of political platforms, which make them hard to ignore.

I would start by saying that the democratic platform is void of God. That is not my opinion. It is fact. While the republican platform mentions God several times, the democratic counterpart does not. I would go as far as to say it is anti-God. That is only my opinion based on the stances they take based on that platform

I think that it is for this very reason that party itself has lost their way. I don’t say this in regards to their ideas on governance (socialism, communism, big-government, etc.), I say this from a moral perspective.

A moral stance without God is not a moral stance at all. In essence ‘each person’ becomes their own God regarding morality. Starting there, it devolves into an “I’m okay. You’re okay” philosophy that provides no compass for morality other than feelings and emotions. We see and hear this every day as we are bombarded with an onslaught of incivility around these political conversations. Charlie Kirk sought to use civil dialogue to make an impact in this area. He was shot and killed.

I’m not going to unpack that conversation here. I do want to demonstrate how it is bleeding over into our topic of raising boys to be competent men of Christ-like character. There is no doubt that the Republican Party is drawing men over to its side. Men of all races, ages, and backgrounds. That is a proven fact in anyone who monitors these voting trends. Did you notice the recent “No Kings” protests across the nation? They are being inhabited by middle age white woman wearing costumes and dying their hair blue, pink, or green? Others more enlightened have shared their ideas on this dynamic but the reality is evident.

The fact that Donald Trump is the face of the republican party is certainly a part of this movement. He is unlike any leader that republicans have had in my lifetime. He is unapologetic and firey in his views. Many people don’t like the things he says or probably more like they don’t like the WAY he says it. He’s from New York. He’s a fighter. The iconic image of him rising up and pumping his fist in the air shouting “Fight! Fight! Fight!” AFTER he had been shot resonates with an ancient vibe in men; perhaps one they haven’t felt in a long time. He is a phoenix that has risen from the ashes coming back to win an election after losing one in 2020. (I’ll always believe it was fraudulent, but God’s timing is perfect.) He’s patriotic with a devotion to this country and its place in the world in a way that hasn’t been experienced for…ever? Contrasted against the likes of Barak Obama, Joe Biden, and even Tim Walz, he’s become more than the face of a party. He’s become the face of masculinity and manhood. And men are noticing.

The ‘new’ face of the democrats, “AOC” had a highly scrutinized moment during a recent CNN town hall with Bernie Sanders, when the congresswoman addressed why she believed Republicans have more success garnering support among young men.

“They are able to radicalize and target and exploit a generation of young boys, in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires a domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker or a different gender than them,” Ocasio-Cortez said, drawing instant backlash on social media.

Radicalize? Exploit? You see it? It’s not hard to spot. Men are sick of being labeled as toxic. Sick of it.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., an SEC championship-winning football coach who coached at the high school and collegiate levels 40 years, responded to Fox News Digital when asked for his reaction to Ocasio-Cortez’s statement.

“When I was coaching, I taught my players that this is the greatest country in the world, and if you work hard, the sky is the limit for what you can achieve — no matter what you look like. Unfortunately, woke Democrats have spent the past 20 years telling young men they are ‘racist,’ ‘sexist’ and ‘toxic’ simply for being men,” Tuberville said.

“But it didn’t stop there. Democrats tried to prevent men from getting jobs just because of their skin color and also tried to baselessly cancel them during the ‘Me Too’ movement. It’s no wonder that more than half of the young men in this country voted for President Trump in the 2024 election. If Democrats don’t stop demonizing men, they may never win an election again.”

There is one other aspect of this issue that bears mentioning. Have you noticed how the tone of conservatives engaging in politics has changed? In my lifetime, any conservative, male, politician was an idiot. Not even Ronald Reagan could escape the media narrative that republicans were moronic. No one did us more harm in this arena than George W. Bush, who I voted for twice! His kinder, gentler approach to politics only made men run further away from the fight. But now….

The conservative men in the media are fighting back. Fake news owned by liberal outlets have been fully exposed as fraudulent and have become mostly irrelevant in the national conversation. The Legacy media and their liberal heritage is done. Fox News is crushing all other media outlets in viewership and they are NOT putting up with a false narrative. Greg Gutfield is whooping every other late-night show. Have you seen it? They pull no punches. It can be vulgar (very) and crass, but they are clearly showing another side of conservatism and men. Personally, I couldn’t be happier as it feels like the tide against manhood, masculinity, and men is changing.

Of course, it IS bigger than politics. However, going back to my opening remarks, until the democratic party puts God back into their platform (which is do not see ever happening), Tommy Tuberville is right: They may never win another election again. Next up: J.D.Vance, Marco Rubio, Ron DeSantis. Men are BACK.
